Elaine Preece Stanley was born in 1970. She studied and gained a BA in Liverpool before exhibiting in Cheshire and Liverpool galleries. After a personal and traumatic time, Elaine was selected as Best Emerging Artist for a National competition exploring Faith and Identity. This was then exhibited in Chelsea, London. Also Elaine was selected for the ING Discerning Eye competition which was exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London.
Her inspiration derives from local parks and the countryside in North Wales where she often stays with family. Her work process involves working from sketchbooks, painting outdoors and photography, which are, in turn, worked on in her studio. She executes her landscape paintings with wide, mostly lateral brushstrokes. Elaine also likes to paint still life, flowers and life drawing where she can bring together contrasting compositions whilst revealing her interest in observation, mark making and colour.
Elaine practices her art mostly between the north west England and north Wales where her family have lived and worked all throughout her life. In 2013 Elaine was elected a member of The Royal Cambrian Academy Conwy, Wales.
Elaine Preece Stanley had her first debut exhibition with us in August 2020 to celebrate her 50th Birthday.
